Jeff had a brief work trip to New Jersey last week -- we have had so little family time together lately that we decided to tag along. The girls (especially Lucy) loooooove hotels, even ones in New Jersey (I kid...I actually love NJ, especially in the fall). After Jeff's meeting on Friday, we went into Manhattan for the afternoon and explored around a bit. We went to Central Park (disappointed to find the carousel closed for the season but still fun), FAO Schwartz (where Phoebe tried to steal a stuffed pink puppy dog toy) and to the new and very sparkly food halls at the Plaza Hotel. Man, what we wouldn't have given to sit down for a glass of champagne and some oysters there...but it was just not in the cards with the kids in tow. It was a whirlwind trip but well worth it to show the girls a small slice of the greatest city in the world.
