Oh what a night

Lucy and I had a date last night. We had dinner at Panera Bread, which she told me is a nice "factory." After dinner, I bought her some sandals at Payless, but I did not allow the ones with Dora or Disney Princesses on them. (I don't mind her having some of that stuff, but I draw the line at shoes.) She enjoyed browsing everything there and exclaimed "Look at all the lovely shoes!"

Moving on to Target, I tried on some bathing suits with her in the dressing room. I only liked one of them, but Lucy told me it looked "kind of like a pregnant." So, that was a no-go (what are daughters for if not for honesty in the dressing room?). Then, when we were in the kids' section, she spotted a tiny bikini top and shouted, "Look, Mommy, a kid bra!"...which got great laughs from the women shopping nearby.

Like any good date, she did not want it to end and kept asking if we could walk around "the city" some more (let's forget for a moment that my child, who was born in Boston and has traveled to London, Edinburgh, Rome, and New York City, thinks that a strip mall in Framingham is the city). And like any great date, it ended with a hug and then a kiss. I have to say, I think we both got lucky :)
