The Graduate

{post ceremony donut mouth}

Lucy had her preschool "graduation" last week. Now, before you get all choked up wondering where the time has gone, she is not starting kindergarten in the fall...or even the fall after that. (Heaven help us, we've got two more years until she qualifies for kindergarten...i.e., two more years of tuition bills higher than they will be until she's in college.) Nevertheless, she had her very first graduation ceremony and it was adorable. I got there right before it started, Phoebe in tow, so in my haste I ended up taking some really bad photos. I have to remind myself that even though I am starting to take better and better photos, I still need to not be afraid of posting photos here that document our lives even if they fall far less than "perfect." In fact, I think that here the imperfection makes these photos kinda sweet.

{receiving her diploma}

{watching her classmates receive their diplomas}

Well,I,for one, am all choked up.....but hello, it's me, the mother who has to be carried out of CVS just buying a graduation card for my kids......I'm hopeless.
I really love the last photo with the little feet in the polka dotty shoes....if you come back to the Cape soon, we'll get some new one for the new "semester"!

I am so glad you wrote that about photo quality. I only just learned you are a master photographer. I have no skills in that dept, and yet no censor on the ones I post. Love Lucy's donut mouth. Keep on posting!
